A little about ourselves
Our chess club is based in the growing community of Craigieburn in Hume City located in North Melbourne;
Each person is different. While some prefer physically strenuous activities such as footy, cricket and tennis others not so adept will chose a subdued and quiet game like chess. Everyone should be given a choice.
We actively promote and support grassroots chess development in schools and suburbs around Hume for all ages.
We welcome parents to join our membership roster to make our activities sustainable.
We are organising three (3) tournaments for 2017, two (2) Hume Juniors and the FIRST BANDICOOT CHALLENGE. Final dates to be announced later. In order to compete, you have to register and be a member of our chess club. Please see flyer. To become a member, visit our Membership page.
Bandicoot Chess Club is now part of a much bigger chess picture as library- based clubs and groups continue to sprout like mushrooms all over Melbourne.
These collage of chess activities are not organised but initiated by different chess-passionate people.

Chess Clubs in Schools
Our chess club has donated 5 chess sets each to Mount Ridley College and Willmott Park Primary School to start their chess clubs. This is an on-going activity.
We likewise donated 5 chess sets to Mother Teresa Primary School in support to Ernest Sagalongos initiative to kickstart a club in their school. We encourage our players to form chess teams so we can compete in Chess Victoria events.
Aitken Creek Primary School is next.
Launching our new activity, first of its kind, only here in Bandicoot Chess Club! If you want to know more, visit our CHESS ART page.
